A New Era in Education
21st-century learning goes beyond what we once knew as education. With rapid technological advancements coming our way, we educators have to adapt and use these advancements to our favor. This new revolution in education means it is the era of critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, and convenient use of technology.
Language learning with these advancements, in that matter, developed much more. Students do not want to solely use textbooks, exercise books, etc. They need more engaging materials which are not copy pasted from somewhere else but made by their teachers or fellow educators specifically for their use. We teachers should know our students and their needs and shape our techniques accordingly. I, for one, see technology as a powerful tool that can help enhance the learning AND teaching experience for the better.
Integrating technology is essential since it connects students to authentic language use and fosters communication even after the class is over. By using technology in the classrooms we not only catch students' attentions but also equip students with digital literacy skills, preparing them for the future. But one must never forget that technology is not a distraction, it is a tool for us to bend and shape.
I guess we can call this new era the TEACHNOLOGY era of education :))
