'WHAT THE FLIP'ped classroom video assignment!!!

Hey everyone!! In this post, I will talk about "The Flipped Classroom Task". In this project, we created a flipped learning video to teach the Simple Future Tense to A1–A2 level high school prep students. If you have not heard of it, the flipped classroom approach allows learners to access the core content at home through videos and spend class time practicing, speaking, and applying the grammar topic. This method supports personalized learning because students can pause, rewatch, and learn at their own speed. However, it also requires learners to take responsibility for watching the video before class.

For this assignment, our group, Aliye, İlke, and Furkan, prepared a 5-minute teaching video explaining the Simple Future Tense. We discussed functions such as predictions, decisions made at the moment of speaking, promises, and plans. Each group member narrated a different section to make the video collaborative and engaging. You can watch the video by clicking here. We also prepared a handout quiz using Canva to check students’ understanding before the in-class lesson. Here are the handouts and the answer key:

During this stressful process, we faced some challenges, such as choosing the right tool, keeping the explanation simple but complete, and keeping the content appropriate for the students' level. We solved this by dividing responsibilities and reviewing each other’s parts. Also, we created an ASSURE model lesson plan for our task, which you can see by clicking here. By this time, we have used the ASSURE model so much that we are used to it now. I love the ASSURE model.💞
